Miaou was born in France and inspired by the Southern California coastline with a singular goal: to make its wearers feel good. Founded by Alexia Elkaim in 2016 after an exhaustive hung for the "perfect" pair of pants, the brand reflects the designer's nomadic upbringings in Paris, New York and LA, scouring vintage markets for inspiration and fits. Miaou strives to empower the "femme gaze" and has expanded their sizing so as to fulfill its goal of making as many of its global Miaou community "feel good" as possible. The brand has also recently taken huge strides in focusing on more sustainable production practices like using deadstock fabrics and recycled materials, as well as committing to local sourcing and production in Los Angeles.
