How to wear: Our Newest Vans
By: Chynna James and Geraldine Chung
It's 2022 and we're just about in our 22nd month in a global pandemic and sometimes even simple things feel hard. It's OK. We feel you and we're here with you. What day is it? What is time but a construct? If you're anything like us and there are days when you've forgotten how to dress like a human being, here are some easy ideas for you. Stay comfy, my friends.
You don't always need socks.
We love to pair sneakers with a long skirt or a cropped pair of jeans. Socks not necessary. Unless you know, they are. These Vans sneakers feature a waffled blue translucent outsole and built-in ComfortCush insole for all day comfort. A vividly colored shoe can make up for all sorts of dressing uncertainties. To tuck your tee or leave untucked? How many layers is enough? Is it really going to rain today? We don't know and we can't tell you, but have fun with your shoes and the rest should be OK.
Sometimes a sneaker can be like a boot.
Case in point, these Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi OG Style 24 high tops. They feature a floral camo print and an orange wax stamp heel tab. We love it with a workwear style pant for a utilitarian vibe or with a midi-dress to toughen up what can be an overtly girly outfit.
You don't need to reinvent the wheel.
But maybe just a little bit. These OG Classic Slip-On's from the Vault by Vans x Geoff McFetridge collection are guaranteed to go with pretty much anything in your closet. If you don't know what shoes to wear, these will work. The faint paint splotches on the shoes ensure that you're not blinding anyone with overly white sneakers and lend your outfit a lived-in, yes-I-just-repainted-my-kitchen feel.
